Equipment There's a lot of things diabetics should carry around to be safe and maintain their health. Here's a few:
Insulin Pump: Insulin Pumps deliver insulin to the body 24 hours a day. They are used if someone can't make enough insulin for themselves. Insulin pumps can be adjusted throughout the day to make sure the user gets the right amount of insulin. You should wear your insulin pump at all times except for bathing and swimming. You can keep your insulin in the waist band of your pants. Important Advice: Insulin pumps are water-proof, but should be kept out of direct contact with water.
Glucose Tests: Glucose tests are used regularly to check blood/ glucose levels. They usually consist of pricking your finger and putting it on a test strip. Many people use glucose test meters so it's faster. Insulin Syringes (and Insulin Pens): These also deliver insulin to your body, but much faster in case of an emergency. Some people will use syringes instead of an insulin pump. Diabetes Kit Bag: These are bags that are packed with all the essentials for travel. You can order them at many diabetic stores. They should have what diabetics need regularly and for an emergency.
